Our Classes
The CrossFit methodology is about preparing you for the unknown and unknowable. By varying the movements and workouts each day, you’ll train your body in different ways, helping you become well-rounded and capable in all aspects of fitness. The focus on functional movements means we work on exercises that mimic real-life activities—like squats, deadlifts, and presses—ensuring you're not only fit in the gym but also stronger in your everyday life.Scaling Our WorkoutsOne of the key elements that makes CrossFit accessible to everyone is scalability. At Baker CrossFit, every workout can be adjusted to match your fitness level, experience, and abilities. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced athlete, we make sure each workout is challenging but achievable for you.
Here’s how we scale our workouts:
Load/Weight: We adjust the weight used in lifts and exercises to match your strength and ability. You’ll gradually increase the load as you become stronger and more confident.
Intensity: If you're just starting out, we’ll adjust the intensity of the workout to a pace that challenges you without overwhelming you. As your fitness improves, so will the intensity.
Movement Modifications: We offer alternative movements to accommodate any mobility restrictions or skill level. For example, if you’re unable to perform a full movement, such as a pull-up, we provide modified versions like ring rows or assisted pull-ups.
Reps/Time: Depending on your experience, we may scale the number of repetitions or the length of time for each exercise to ensure you complete the workout safely and effectively.
Our goal is to help you progress at your own pace, always keeping safety and effectiveness in mind. No matter your fitness level, you’ll receive the same coaching, support, and encouragement as everyone else in the class.
